How to Become a Member:

We have members who range from beginners with small telescopes or binoculars to experts with state-of-the-art equipment. The club itself owns a large reflector at the largest publicly-accessible roll-off observatory in Ontario.

To become a member, you only need an interest in stargazing, we will provide the rest. Our meetings are open to the public and you are more than welcome to join us for a few meetings on a trial basis with “no obligation to buy.”

A yearly membership is currently $40 and includes your immediate family as well. We encourage family participation.
Membership entitles you to attend our meetings, BAS club viewing events, use of a personal rental telescope for a month or two, and access to the ES Fox observatory at various club events.

You also get 12 emailed issues of StarGazer News, our club newsletter. It’s pages are full of astronomy information, updates on club and public events, a monthly sky events calendar to keep you informed of sky happenings and a featured constellation for you to observe in detail and even a small classified ads section.

To take out a membership, send a cheque for $40 made out to the “Bluewater Astronomical Society” and in the letter include your name(s), full mailing address, email and phone number to:
